Salary: DOE OTE £48,000, pension, fuel allowance, and other benefits
Fast growing Logistics and transportation client is looking to further expand their business with the introduction of a Business Development Manager attached to their site in Cardiff. No formal sales territory for the role but main focus will be on South Wales / South West England, across Cardiff, Bristol, Somerset etc selling all modes Air, Ocean, Road and warehousing.
• Generate new accounts for the company and to develop / support existing accounts.
• Regular visits to ongoing accounts
• Cold please apply potential customers and working with the branch teams to maximise the potential of customers identified in branch
• Compiling quotes for customers against specific rate requests
• Negotiating terms of each specific piece of business and closing the sale
• Gathering and analysing market and customer information to better target potential sales
• Representing the company at industry events / exhibitions
• Maintaining accurate, up to date and complete records on ACT! Sales management software
• Ensuring quotes meet profitability targets
• Understanding and effectively managing credit risk
• Working with and asking support from the National Account Manager as necessary
You will already have some experience selling in the B2B marketplace or experienced candidates from operational positions looking to step into sales roles could be considered. Strong communication skills on all fronts, organisation and attention to detail are all essential. Mentored by the National accounts manager you will have plenty of self-motivation and enthusiasm for this field based sales position.
