Forklift Operative

Salary: £29,256 per year

We are currently recruiting for a Forklift Driver for our oil & gas services client in Aberdeen. This will be for the workshop area.

It would be highly advantageous to have worked in a similar role in a busy workshop or yard and it is essential to hold a B2 forklift certificate.

The main purpose of the role will be to load and unload containers/tanks from within the workshop and refurbishment areas of the yard. In addition carry out general work around the site as requested in line with training provided.

Duties will include but not be limited to:-

load and unload containers/tanks in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with Company Forklift Code of Practice at all times.

 Ensure blast, paint and welder bays are turned over in a timely and safe manner.

 To load and unload items such as steel, blast grit, pallets and other items from transport in accordance with risk assessments and work instructions.

To carry out general work around the site as required including housekeeping and container maintenance.

Ensure forklift truck is checked prior to use on a daily basis. Any faults to be reported immediately.

The safe use and maintenance of the fork lift truck and other company equipment in line with Company Forklift Code of Practice.

 The safety of others on site, especially those in the vicinity of fork lift truck movements.

 The jobholder will work closely with the Process Leads to co-ordinate the movement and loading/unloading of containers.

 The jobholder will also work with the other fork lift drivers in order to coordinate truck movements in a safe and efficient manner.

Hours of work 8am to 430pm.
