Salary: £22.8 – £25.2 per hour

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for managing the day to day food & beverage operations of a public house at Castle Donington in a professional manner, while continually exceeding guest expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ongoing Responsibility for all areas of the food & beverage operations
Ensure all customers are provided with outstanding service
Ensure kitchen, restaurant and bar operations are opened and closed according to policy
Responsible for ordering supplies, and inventory control and establishing relationships with suppliers, ensuring the business receives competitive terms
Responsible for food hygiene and health and safety issues in line with EHO and Health and Safety Policy
Responsible for assisting in menu planning, development and meal specials
Ensure all kitchens and eating areas are organised and high levels of cleanliness maintained
Provide leadership, guidance and supervision to all team members
Ensure proper cash management controls are followed by all food & beverage staff members
Ensure that quality and presentation of food is maintained
Ensure the food & beverage operations are properly staffed with trained competent individuals
Adhere to current licensing regulations
Adhere to all government guidelines for proper and safe food and beverage service
Ensure waste is minimised and properly recorded
Participate in planning and organising events and special requirements as required
Assist with report generation
Other duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager
Respond to and deal with customer complaints

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Minimum 2 years previous experience as a food & beverage supervisor
Safe Food Handler Certified
Smart Service Certified
NVQ Level 3 in relevant area
Able to work independently
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
Excellent organisational skills
Must possess effective oral and written communication skills
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
Intermediate computer skills
Team player
Knowledge of electronic booking and order systems
High level of personal presentation
Experience of silver service would be desirable but not essential
