Flood Risk Consultant

Flood risk due diligence during acquisition and/or divestment of property or land;

Application of flood risk advice into commercial decisions around investment, development and transactional situations to institutional investors and pension funds, insurance companies, lenders, environmental consultants, solicitors and valuers;

Where flood risk is seen as significant, experience in identification and implementation of flood resilience through flood resistance/mitigation measures;

Advice on flood risk insurance cover; its availability, extent and knowledge of emerging trends;
Experience of planning and development control in relation to flooding issues and climate change;

Understanding of flood risk modelling and the relative merits of appropriate modelling systems (note this is not a modelling role);

Development of flood response plans; and
Providing advice and guidance on the implications of current policy, regulatory and industry guidance and legislation to the property industry.

You will ideally have
Previous experience within a flood risk consultancy or similar client advisory role;
BSc and/or MSc/MEng in relevant discipline;
Working towards or currently Chartered member of professional body;
Proven track record of advising clients during property due diligence;
Strong technical capabilities including detailed understanding of flood risk assessment (FRA, FCA, SFRA), legislation and policy;
Track record of business development and account management;
Experience of liaising with clients, regulators and other stakeholders;
Excellent report writing and presentation skills;
