Fixed Income / Equities Portfolio Analyst – Investment Bank, London The Portfolio Analyst will provide timely and accurate operational investment support to the Portfolio Managers. The team support both active and passive strategies for both segregated and pooled mandates. As the key contact point for the Portfolio Management team and all other internal and external clients you would be allocated portfolios which you would own from an operational perspective and be expected to understand to a high level of detail. Daily functions would include but not be limited to:

• Cash Forecasting. Monitoring subscriptions and redemptions.
• Daily verification of fund valuations. Reconciliations.
• Performance monitoring, calculation, attribution and query resolution.
• Query investigation and resolution

Key external interactions will be with the clients, counterparts, custodians, fund administrators and other third party providers. Internally interactions would be with fixed income portfolio managers, their assistants and traders, the reconciliations team, compliance, risk, trade support, legal and client administration.

The role will initially focus on the Fixed Income based Funds but the sucessfull candidate may be asked to help with other asset classes in time. Portfolio Analysts are expected to be proactive in their position and look to enhance the current processes and procedures. Analysts are expected to be able to work independently and as part of a team, to follow issues and responsibilities through to resolution, to meet deadlines, and to perform under pressure. Ideal Background:
Education and Experience to comprise of some of the following: Bonds, Futures, FX spot and forwards Fixed Income Equities
• ideally Degree qualified with a financial or analytical discipline preferred.
• Investment Operations Certificate (formerly IAQ) or Investment Management Certificate considered an advantage.
• Operations experience gained from an investment manager, hedge fund, investment bank, prime broker, fund administrator or custodian.
• Product Experience required: Bonds, Futures, FX spot and forwards
Skills/ Knowledge
• Analytically minded with strong problem solving skills
• Understanding of investment markets and settlement.
• Understanding of product and fund valuation useful.
• Experience of Performance Measurement and Attribution an advantage.
• Exposure to Barclays POINT and Bloomberg is an advantage.
• Strong MS Windows applications, specifically Excel.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet internal and external deadlines.
• Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external clients.
• Flexible to change in a growing business
