What will I do day-to-day?

This role is all about using data and analysis to deliver the best possible service to our users.

As a FinOps Analyst, you deliver performance analysis that helps services to meet the Government’s Digital by Default Service Standard.

The key purpose of your role is to deliver accurate and efficient cost and usage reporting, and analytical insight, for the Digital Cloud Services you will work with.

You will make sure DWP understands how people are using our Digital Cloud Services. You’ll focus on analysis that will drive cost optimisation and efficiencies to improve the unit economics of Digital Cloud Services, and the experience of millions of users.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Experience of working with stakeholders to define and develop appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), that reflect the goals of the business
  • Able to turn large volumes of data into compelling stories by preparing it in order to present analysis and visualisations to senior stakeholders in clear ways that enable decision making and influence change
  • Experience of working in FinOps and understanding on how to use data to recommend the best use of digital cloud services

In return for your skills, we offer a competitive salary of up to £43,347.

You’ll be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 27.1%, worth over £11,000 a year
