Salary: £26,000 per year

Financial Controller – Wisbech – 45,000 / 55,000 plus car

ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit a Financial Controller with immediate effect for our client based just outside Wisbech.

This role has great development opportunities, with plans to progress to FD role for the right candidate.

Role:

The role of Financial Controller will be hands-on, with full ownership of accounting in this growing, £10m+ turnover business.

The Financial Controller will have opportunities to progress into a Finance Director position. The company is rapidly expanding with projects across the UK in both the residential and commercial construction sectors.

The chosen candidate will have responsibility from start-to-finish, for the finance function, as well as value added management information/analysis, including profit & loss and cash flow forecasting.

They will be the go-to person for the Founder/Director on all finance matters. In that respect, it is essential that the selected candidate is both technically capable and a good cultural fit. The business is independently owned and has a culture of team work, togetherness and high service quality.

Profile: The successful candidate will be an experienced, hands-on finance professional who keeps calm under pressure and can work with the Founder/Director providing the information needed to run the business, in a robust, successful and profitable manner.

You will be a qualified accountant ideally with experience in construction and cash flow management.

Role Responsibilities:
– Oversee all company financial accounts.
– Create monthly management accounts to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
– Develop budgets and financial plans for the company.
– Manage monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecast
– Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
– Oversee sales ledger and credit control.
– Oversee the day to day managing of the accounts team.
– Supervision of monthly bank reconciliation and checking all control accounts.
– Contributing to decisions regarding financial strategy.

The Successful Applicant:

– Qualified Accountant, ideally with experience gained in the Construction industry (but not essential) as Financial Controller.

– Experience with Accounting Software Sage is essential.

– Knowledge and understanding of HMRC’s VAT, PAYE/NI, Construction Industry Scheme.
– Attention to detail.
– Good verbal and written communication skills.
– Sound understanding of accounting processes.
– Good interpersonal skills.
– Must be able to multi-task and be pro-active.
– Good planning and organisational skills.
