Financial Controller

Salary: £18 per hour

Our client is a well-established business experiencing significant growth, manufacturing specialist technology products to the aerospace, security and MOD sectors. With ambitious growth plans, our client offers over 30 year’s expertise and a healthy c£15m turnover.

We are looking for a strategic hands-on Financial Controller with gravitas and tenacity to enhance the company’s current process and systems using SAGE200 to support their growth and ambitious future plans.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for all financial and commercial aspects with successful exposure in mergers and acquisitions.

You will be a commercially aware, ACA, CIMA or ACCA, degree level or similar calibre, with exceptional communication and people skills.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the MD and Management team to grow the business formulating strategic plans

* Review current finance software system with recommendations for an integrated solution

* Review stock and company assets

* Lead, plan and manage the budgeting process

* Overall cash-flow management on an on-going basis

* Track record of bank relationships and fund sourcing

* Formulate budgets and targets where necessary

* Overall control of financial transactions and accountancy matters, including audit systems

* Preparation and review of weekly and monthly accounts, reporting and variances

* Presentation of annual accounts with recommendations and liaison with auditors

* Treasury and supporting, semi-retired Company Secretary

* Capital expenditure – evaluation and preparation of submissions

* Insurance and risk management

* Setting annual cost rates and reviewing pricing/suppliers

* Close involvement in commercial negotiations and contracts

* Ensuring regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met

* Company pension schemes including liaising with final salary pension scheme Trustees on behalf of the Company

* Preparation/Submission of Annual Group Statutory Accounts Pack and liaising with Auditors

You will have a good understanding of project skills and continuous improvement processes to improve business performance at a strategic and practical level. Ideally you will have strong IT skills with a good understanding of new technologies and integrated systems.
