Salary: £50,400 – £60,000 per year
Our client is expanding their Accounting function and are seeking to recruit a
Financial Controller.
The company are stable and have an excellent reputation in their field.
The arena they are in is construction, so ideal candidates will have worked in that sector
The role will be hands on covering the Finance side of the business, candidates will need to know how to cover all areas of the business which would include sales – purchase – nominal ledgers this is for cover purposes when members of the team are off and for month end closure
Monthly payroll for the permanent staff you will need to understand P45s tax and SSP SMP etc.
Day to day running of the finance function and team. This briefly includes monitoring,
recording and analysing applications. Compiling cash flow forecast and leading credit
control processing and chasing. Checking payment certificates and payless notices
received and invoices raised when necessary. Ensuring timely entry of purchase and subcontract invoices.
_ Production of WIP and project adjustment figures for entering journals.
_ Supporting the finance team and giving direction to them.
_ Responsibility for closing Sales, Purchase and Nominal ledgers.
_ Producing monthly Management Accounts and supporting documentation.
_ Checking reconciliations and ensuring integrity of ledgers including costing.
_ Assisting with nominal ledger journals.
_ Input/use of contract costing ledger.
_ Attending Contract Cost Progress meetings.
_ Gathering information to produce WIP schedules.
_ Setting up and analysing new project information for inclusion on cash flow and Work in hand schedules.
Banking
You will need to have excellent Excel skills – formulas V look ups
Be ACCA – ACA qualified and have worked in a similar role.
