Financial Accountant

Location: Bourne

Contract Type: Permanent or Fixed Term Contract

Accountabilities

Performance Reporting – supporting / managing the periodic reporting process, ensuring that the information generated is used to challenge performance and drive action

Control Environment – assisting with improving financial control systems – monitoring the established internal financial control environment to ensure that current standards are maintained

Month End – supporting the month end and balance sheet process – ensuring the process is robust, efficient and that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and submitted in line with reporting deadlines

TAX – preparing PSA, Tax Packs and VAT Returns

Working Capital – reviewing and understanding actual cash performance and forecast short-term cash requirements – influencing the key drivers of working capital

IS and Business Processes – managing the financial systems (ERP, fixed assets, reporting systems etc) to ensure they are operating and being used efficiently and effectively, and that the integrity of the information held within them is maintained

Overhead reporting – business partnering on overhead spend through regular meetings and review to budget – presenting at the monthly overhead review to the GM, Senior FC, control and reporting FC and cost centre owners

Team management – coaching and mentoring team members

About you

Ideally, you will come from a similar role with experience of financial accounts – including month end submissions, cash flow forecasting and balance sheet control.

You will hold a professional accountancy qualification with some post qualified experience and have good organisational skills in order to deliver against tight business & financial deadlines.

Excellent PC and analytical skills and a prior background of consulting with auditors and other external groups, will be key – as too will the ability to analyse and communicate financial information to non-financial personnel, providing recommendations and guidance where necessary.
