Financial Accountant

Salary: £54,000 – £66,000 per year

Financial Accountant | 15 month fixed term contract | Brentwood, Essex

This leading construction firm based in Brentwood is seeking to hire a qualified accountant for a 15 month fixed term contract.

The role

* Management of the month end close routines

* Preparation of the monthly regional and holding company trial balances and associated balance sheet reconciliations

* Working with the Financial Controller and other Management Accountants to implement and maintain all processes and controls for the finance function.

* Quarterly Group VAT Return preparation

* Support the Finance Director/Financial Controller in the annual audit of group companies

* With the Finance Director/Financial Controller, lead projects to drive efficiencies and compliance with the department.

* Build relationships with the stakeholders of the finance function and the wider business.

* Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly board packs

Your background

* Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or later stage studier

* Experience of working within the construction sector or audit/practice desirable but not essential

* Experience of working in a deadline driven environment and managing timetables

* Self-motivated with high attention to detail

* Strong system skills, particularly Excel

* Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders across the business
