Financial Accountant

Salary: £60,000 – £72,000 per year

My client, an industry leader in the engineering and manufacturing space, are looking to hire a Financial Accountant to join their head office in Cheshire.

The Financial Accountant will join the UK finance team, and work closely with the UK Head of Finance, in an extremely varied and interesting role. It’s a great blend of financial and management accounting, group reporting, tax, as well as a number of interesting ad hoc projects.

The Financial Accountant will have one direct report, so if you are ACA qualified and looking for a broad new accounting opportunity, either as a first or second time move from practice, this is the perfect opportunity to join a high growth, Covid-proof organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

Statutory Accounts preparation for UK trading entities
Oversee monthly VAT process for all UK trading entities
Provision of information to feed into corporation tax processes for all UK trading entities
Prepare for annual external audit and manage provision of information to tight deadlines
Oversee UK intercompany process and apply monthly controls
Supporting the team with continuous improvement projects
Line Manager responsibility for Assistant Financial AccountantThe ideal candidate will be:

ACA/ACCA qualified, with at least a year’s PQE
Up to date technical knowledge of IFRS, FRS 101 and FRS
Strong Excel skills, able to work with large volumes of data
Analytical mindset, with the ability to challenge and make improvements
