Finance Services Project Lead/ Preston/ Initial 4 month contract/ £68.36 Ltd per hour

My client is a well respected engineering organisation who is currently experiencing an ongoing period of growth and success. Due to an ever increasing workload, they are currently looking to recruit a Finance Services Project Lead to join their dedicated team of professionals to be based out of their impressive operations in Preston, Lancashire. This is an initial 4 month contract and is paying a rate of £68.36 Ltd per hour. Please find the role description below:

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF JOB:

*Lead the Finance Services Portfolio Management Office on behalf of Project Management Authority (PMA).
*Through management of the Finance Service Roadmap:
oProvide visibility on effort expended on the assessment and delivery of change and its associated benefits
oEnable structured and consistent decision making on change approvals
oEnsure accurate and consistent reporting of data for ongoing projects is provided on a monthly basis to the roadmap
oMonitor ongoing activities on the roadmap to highlight variances from plan for management intervention
*Develop Roadmap Management into an appropriately sized Portfolio Management Capability.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

*Immediate term accountabilities
oFacilitate the monthly Roadmap Review Board, ensuring that all parties and materials are effectively prepared for the Board, the session well managed and outputs professionally followed up. Given that the active change stack is relatively small, this role must be hands on in driving through the outcomes required of the Roadmap Review Board.
oIdentify and mitigate delivery excellence issues by conducting ongoing deliver assurance on behalf of the PMA, providing independent verification for project at or beyond the prospect stage that gate criteria are met and that data feeding the Roadmap is reliable.
oLead exception reviews at the request of the Roadmap Review Board, these Exception Reviews are the vehicle for investigating and initiating management of RAID items emerging from the Roadmap Review Board.
oOn behalf of the PMA, advise and guide projects on the gating and roadmap processes.

*Longer term accountabilities
oBased upon a blueprint for target end state PMO, extend the functionality of the office toward this end state design whilst keeping the depth of the PMO function appropriate to the size of the FS change portfolio. Extended full functionality will include the following capabilities:

SPECIALIST SKILLS REQUIRED:

*Ability to influence key stakeholders across Finance Services without line management responsibility. Needs to be credible / have the authority / collaborative style when needed to keep them on-side.
*Well rounded project delivery professional with experience in leading business and technical change in a number of environments.
*Proven success in delivery assurance roles.
*Experience in building and running Portfolio Management functions.
*Leading impact assessment of change

LEADERSHIP: PEOPLE MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS:

*Strong leader, capable of eliciting cooperation in a matrix reporting organisation.
*Ability to facilitate business decisions with peers and senior management.
*Clear and precise communicator.
*Good influencing skills and can collaborate with Finance Services and Shared Services stakeholders.
