Finance Officer

Salary: £34,680 – £41,640 per year

A community multi-academy trust of six schools in Essex is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to provide financial services and support to the MAT as part of a centralised financial function.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the officer will assist with the provision of professional management and leadership of financial services, promoting best practice and ensuring compliance with the financial processes and procedures.

Duties will include supporting budgeting and end of year reporting, processing orders and requisitions, preparing VAT returns, monthly reconciliations and schedules of accruals. The officer will also assist with the annual internal and external audits and support School Office Team Leaders with finance system enquiries.

The successful candidate will bring experience of working within finance in an administrative role, ideally in an education setting. Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel together with education systems e.g. SIMS, FMS/PS Financials is desirable. Cash handling and banking with purchase ledger experience and data processing are all essential skills. You will be professional at all times and comfortable in communicating effectively, both written and verbally, across all levels of staff.

Ideally AAT qualified or studying towards this, you will be on point with data accuracy, will be confident in questioning information and are a natural in nurturing positive working relationships.

This an onsite, full Time: 37 hours per week; 52 weeks per year.
