Looking after a small team and getting stuck in, improving processes and structure and managing the company accounts and working with the senior leadership team – Progression to Financial Controller and ultimately Finance Director!

A live November 2021 role – START DEC or Jan 22

Initially 80%-100% office based with a hybrid evolution into 50/50 home and office (flexibility)

We are looking for a Financial Controller to prepare financial statements and oversee our clients finance function. You can be on the up and very transactional with potential and ambition or able to hit the ground running! You would be reporting directly to the board.

You, the candidate:
You will need to be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant post qualification experience, preferably some of that experience being in the construction industry (Ideally)
You will need to have the ambition and confidence.
You will also need to be flexible enough to work within a small management team, learning new skills as required.
A team player within an SME with a strong stable history and excellent reputation!

Responsibilities within the role / position:
· Prepare budgets and forecasts in conjunction with senior managers
· Produce monthly management accounts
· Prepare monthly project costs and forecast profitability
· Monitor and control cash flow
· Manage the accounts team (currently 2 employees)
· Prepare financial statements and oversee the external audit
· Advise senior management on the financial implications of their decisions
· Oversee payroll and pensions
· Complete all government returns Requirements
· Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
· Industry experience post qualification, preferably in construction
· In-depth experience of risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
· Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices
· Proficient in the use of IT packages including Office and finance software
· An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
· Excellent communication skills
· Keen eye for detail
· Organizational and leadership skills
