Finance Assistant (Part Time)

Our client, a successful provider of hardware and supporting soft services worldwide, is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team on a part time basis. Working up to 24 hours per week, over a period of 3, 4 or 5 days per week (dependant on the requirements of the new team member), the successful candidate will have experience of working within a similar accounts administration function (primarily working with debits and credits, understanding the fundamentals of journals and account reconciliations) to provide financial and clerical support to the Financial Accountant and Finance Team.

Key accountabilities include:

Accurately process Fixed Assets and other Financial transactions.
Raise asset resale and third party invoices
Produce and reconcile Management reports on fixed asset additions/disposals to nominal ledger and FMS system
Prepare monthly reports on disposal and TPH activity
Update the our clients’ management systems to reflect activity.
Ensure that all processes for the role are up to date
Upload invoices to the system and investigate any discrepancies
Monthly reconciliation and preparation of payment to the system
Reconcile fair value accounts at the month end
Reconcile fixed assets OA register to system to Nominal ledger
Any other ad-hoc duties to support the overall team output

Qualifications/Knowledge & Skills:

Computer literate, experience in using databases, spreadsheets and word processing programs
Working knowledge of off the shelf Finance package (ideally Open Accounts)

Able to work to strict deadlines, to deliver month end reports
Confident communicator with peers, our client’s managers and external company representatives
Appreciative of role Finance plays in supporting wider business
Accurate and good attention to detail
Works well within a team environment

Desirable:

Proactive in highlighting issues across the different streams of the role and resolving theses with management support as required.
Understanding of the principles of Fixed Asset, Sales Ledger Accounting
Qualified or Part Qualified Professional Accountant (AAT/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
