Finance Assistant – Legal

Salary: £30,000 per year

We are excited to present to the market a Finance Assistant role for a leading Legal client based in Edinburgh City Centre.
A well respected and recognised company in their field, they are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join and support their growing team.
This role sits in the Legal Cashroom, however is not a cashier role, this role will support credit control, billing and supporting the Tax department.
Role Responsibilities
* Preparation of letters and fee notes to clients
* Attending meetings with key stakeholders to discuss departmental billing requirements
* Support with credit control, ensuring all outstanding fees are chased when required
* Allocate incoming funds ensuring they are logged against the correct client record
* Manage any issues or complaints that arise with invoices
* Collating tax payment info from clients and update internal records (This will include VAT, Corporation and other forms of tax both personal and business related)
* Review all ledgers daily ensuring residual balances are returned to the appropriate parties
* Opening and closing client files, ensuring full compliance
* Support other departments with any finance related transactions
* Supporting with Ad Hoc administrative tasks
Key Skills
* Prior knowledge of working in a professional services firm such as an Accountancy firm or Law firm within a Finance department
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong customer services/stakeholder management skills
* Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset
* Flexible and adaptable
* The ability to spot discrepancies and resolve
* Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications such as Excel and Access
