Position: Field Service Engineer
Salary: £31,680 p/a (OTE with the regular overtime available c.£30,000 p/a)
Shifts/hours: Monday to Friday – 45 hours p/w
Contract: Permanent
Benefits: 24 days holiday, Overtime, Pension scheme, Sick pay, full expensed company van (business use only)

Our client are a prestigious national client who supplies, maintains and provides equipment dedicated to all-year-round surface clearing, including winter snow and ice clearance, sweeping and vegetation control. Our client works within the Highways, Rail, Agricultural & Airport sectors.
The Company is a national company with headquarters based in Peterborough, as well as a service depot in Glasgow and service engineers based remotely around the UK. They are part of a Group of companies, which has sales offices and manufacturing plants throughout the UK & Europe.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance/Mechanical Engineer who has a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
Main Purpose of role:
This role involves interaction with all employees, The Group’s colleagues, as well as some suppliers and UK authorities.
DESCRIPTION OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
*Maintenance and repair of range of compact road sweepers, truck mounted sweepers, spreaders and mowing equipment.
*Provide excellent customer service in a timely manner.
*Complete vehicle Warranties at customer premises.
*Complete daily job sheets and spreadsheets as needed.
*Promote the company’s products, parts and services to established and new customers. Courtesy visits to customers when required.
*To report on regular basis to the office and keep the Manager aware of movements as required by the service desk.
*Ordering parts via the service desk.
*Out of hours call outs.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential
*Experience of service work on diesel engines, hydraulic and auto-electrical systems
*Understanding of technical, high-value capital products
*Flexible and adaptable. Willingness to stop away from home when required.
*Able to work unsupervised
*Excellent customer service attitude
*Clean driving licence. HGV would be an advantage.
*Good written and verbal communication skills
THIS ROLE WOULD BE IDEAL FOR:
A Field Service Engineer or Vehicle Technician working within the Automotive Industry (for one of the recovery companies), Agricultural Technicians, Off Highway Technicians, Plant Machinery Technicians / Engineers.
