My award winning client who are privately owned have an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join the company. My client provides support and innovative solutions to the manufacturing industry for the past 30 years.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Field Service Engineer from a mechanical or electrical background to cover parts of the UK and some international travel.

The Role entails:

Undertaking and/or assisting with installation and commissioning of machines and systems

Troubleshooting/post installation support on machines

Provide training to operators and customers should training should be required

Undertaking, conducting and achieving machine performance trials following installation/commissioning

Provide routine service work

Identify sales opportunities

Maintain good relationships with customers

The role can be very demanding at times, customer facing experience and flexibility is a must.

Skills and Experience

The applicant should be qualified to C&G/HNC (or vocational equivalent) standard and have an electro/mechanical engineering background, together with a practical working knowledge of special purpose machinery and a logical approach to fault finding. Experience of installing/commissioning special purpose machinery would be an advantage, but is not essential. Applicants with PLC programming knowledge (Siemens/Allen Bradley/etc.) would be an advantage. The role would ideally suit someone who likes to travel to various sites and work on there own along with a team.
