Salary: £26,000 per year

Job Title: Factory Apprentice
Reporting to: Factory Manager
Salary: £26,000per year – 40 hours per year plus a 30 minute unpaid lunch
Hours of work: Currently shifts are between 6am and 6pm Monday to Saturday
20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays per year.
Responsibilities include but not limited to: –
• Ability to work to targets
• Ensure a high standard of quality at all times
• Flexibility for understanding of packaging on various clients orders
• Ensure all pick notes/info sheets are completed correctly and accurately
• Accurate input of information on all admin work
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping
• Perform equipment changeover’s
• Knowledge of handling and H & S
• Clean and maintain work area
• Ideally hold a current license to operate a fork truck to maintain material supply
• Ensure all safety checks and procedures are conducted on a daily basis if necessary
• Understand other departments
• Loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
• Ability to lift 25kg as ergonomically possible
• Turn off equipment when not in use
• Have a positive and motivated attitude. Be committed and flexible with a high level of computer literacy.
Responsibilities towards Health and Safety: –
• Take reasonable care for the Health and Safety of themselves and others at all times
• Co-operate with employer or relevant person to ensure the correct level of Health and Safety is achieved
• Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse any equipment provided for ensuring safety or welfare
• Wear protective clothing/uniforms and use safety equipment at all times
• Report damage to equipment or machinery which could be a hazard
• Report all accidents of any nature and however caused, to immediate manager who will ensure all documentation is completed
• Report any item or problem having or potentially having an adverse effect on the Health and Safety of any other person to your immediate manager

This is a great opportunity to learn while you earn in a government funded Apprenticeship. The successful candidate will complete an Intermediate Level 2 NVQ Apprenticeship in Performing Manufacturing Operations over the first year with the training being delivered in the work place. The apprenticeship will involve training and assessments in your vocation as well as Functional Skills in Maths and English and also covers employment rights and responsibilities.
