Salary: £27,600 – £33,600 per year
This is your opportunity to join a fast-moving merchandising team for a leading home textile company in a newly created role and make that role your own.
They have an ever increasing sector of business that is branded export of premium ranges to the Middle East – both from the UK and direct from containers from Pakistan. So they need a Merchandiser who is skilled in export documentation who understands the challenges of import and export throughout the Middle East.
We are looking for someone with experience in trend and forecast analysis within a retail or wholesale environment. Alongside knowledge and experience of export functions, global logistics and import/export paperwork and legislation are essential.
Ability to interpret information & make decisions to maximise sales and stock efficiency.
You will work closely with the Export Account Manager and in doing so free his time to continue to expand this profitable sector of the business.
Day to day your role will be:
* Analyse weekly/monthly/yearly sales to identify trends.
* Create/maintain weekly excel based stock sheets.
* Working with internal stakeholders to ensure forecast stocks are managed efficiently within the system.
* Keeping forecast channels on internal system accurate and up to date.
* Produce layout plans for stores and maintain store shelves and inventory.
* Communicate regularly and effectively with storebased staff to ensure best practice on product stock levels in store and in country warehouse.
* Monitor stock movements and consider markdowns, promotions, and price changes.
* Raise factory purchase orders and manage critical path for container delivery from source country direct to export country (not to the UK).
* Work with factories to ensure products ship within agreed timelines
* Manage all aspects of the export paperwork documentation process. Liaising with internal teams where necessary i.e. shipping, finance etc. Leading transition from reliance on 3rd parties
* Process export shipments
* Complete process of shipment includes arranging for pickup, booking, document preparation (bill of lading, invoicing, etc.) forwarding follow-up with tracking and tracing to final destination
* Make bookings with shipping lines
* Liaise with multiple internal and thirdparty warehouses in multiple territories around the world.
* Liaise with internal stock control and warehouse teams
* Assist in development and growth of business
What will you bring to the role?
* Proven working experience in merchandising
* Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP/Pivot Tables/If Functions/SUMIF)
* Proven working experience in export / supply chain practices
* Proven working experience with import / export documentation and regulations.
* Up to date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage changing priorities
* Work under own initiative
* Ability to communicate to different levels in the organisation
