Experienced Commodities Trader – Mandarin Speaker

Our client an international bank is seeking for an Experienced Commodities Trader – Mandarin speaker to join their team on a permanent basis. 

It is essential for all applicants to have previous experience trading commodities.

Responsibilities:

• Support Head of FMD and Head of Commodities to develop Commodity-focused counterparties for trading and funding business.

• Develop close relationship with HO, share London development story, build trust, engage and look to identify areas where London branch can support on-shore, off-shore capabilities.

• Execute Financial Markets transactions in line with all risk limits, mandates and policies, and back up; 

• Achieve best execution for the bank and clients in financial market products.

• Work as part of the FMD team to deliver the department and branch KPI’s. 

• Deputise for the Head of FMD & Commodities and cover for trading staff when necessary.

• Work with FMD and other departments to develop new business opportunities, funding sources and revenue for the branch.

• Keep up to date and make yourself aware of market changes including regulatory changes that may impact FMD business.

Skills and knowledge:

Undergraduate degree with at least 2.1 in a quantitative subject e.g., Economics, Accounting and Finance.

Bilingual in both English and Mandarin, both spoken and written.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in the finance market with experience in commodities market. 

Interested in working at a growing bank with fast paced environment. 

Takes responsibility and needs limited oversight to accomplish projects, a self-starter.

Strong communications skills for dealing with key internal stakeholders at a senior level.

Ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver practical solutions.
