Company
Our client is a leading Engineering organisation that is involved with the production, development and support of high specification Electronics products. They work across the Defence, Military and Aerospace sectors. They strive to provide engineering excellence to all of their clients.
They are looking to recruit a Environmental Test Engineer to support the business and its customers with regards to all aspects of Environmental and Mechanical Testing. The successful candidate will also be the Environmental Test focal point for new customers.
Role description
To proactively influence the development of new products to ensure that the Environmental Test objectives are set and that Environmental test considerations are integrated in to the design
To provide Environmental Test data in support of the Engineering Framework including creating Qualification Programme Plans, Qualification Test Plans, Test Certificates and Qualification Test Reports
To conduct Environmental Testing in accordance with international recognised specifications e.g. Def. Stan. 00-35, MIL Std 810, RTCA/DO0 or as modified by customer specifications or Qualification Test Plan
To set out the initial design of, work with the Design Engineers to detail and organise the manufacture of test fixtures for conducting specific tests e.g. endurance testing, vibration and mechanical shock
Attend and represent the Environmental Test Team in Progress reviews, Design Reviews and other major meetings as required
Requirements & skills
Ideally you will have experience in the following:
Experience in an Engineering/Environmental test environment.
Ideally have experience in PC based Vibration and Environmental Chamber controllers.
Hold an Electronics qualification to HNC/D level or have equivalent experience.
Be familiar with Microsoft packages e.g. MS Office
