We are looking for an Environmental Reporting Manager to join us at Leonardo. What you will do

You are responsible for ensuring that LEUK Environmental activities under your control are undertaken in accordance with the requirements set out in the Leonardo UK HSE Policy, Sustainable Development Plan, Carbon Strategy, ISO certifications and UK HSE law.

  • Reporting to the UK Electronics Division (LEUK) Head of HSE and working closely with the LEUK HSE team, you will be responsible for reviewing, managing and developing the Divisional Environmental reporting.
  • Implementing environmental policies and practices.
  • Devising strategies to meet targets and encourage best practice.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Working collaboratively with the HSE Systems Manager to identify and create any Environmental Systems requirements. This is a hands-on role – requiring the incumbent to be directly involved in authoring technical environmental documents that are within their capability and delegating to others where appropriate.
  • Assessing, analysing and collating environmental performance data and reporting information to interested parties.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders within the organisation and promoting sustainability across the division, working with the HSE Training and Promotions Advisor.
  • Monitoring and reviewing environmental trends within the division to identify and recommend areas of improvement.
  • Participating in both internal and external HSE audits, as appropriate, to ensure reporting information is easily accessible, comprehensible and in date.

Key areas of activity and objectives

Environmental Reporting

  • Maintenance, review, revision and development of the LEUK documented Environmental Management System to ensure legal, divisional, corporate and ISO requirements are met and the system is aligned with the corporate level standards for the organisation, owning and driving continual improvements.
  • Provide Environmental project plans to the LEUK Head of HSE with regard to implementation planning and resource requirements
  • Provide timely reporting to Italy through the Enablon system for LEUK.
  • Keeping abreast of all Environmental audits, understanding where corrective actions have been raised and their root causes, and working with the HSE Systems manager to update/modify documentation as appropriate to prevent recurrence.
  • Key member of the LEUK Utility Working Group.
  • Support the local HSE teams with Environmental and sustainability requirements.

Leadership

  • Provide effective leadership of Environmental reporting topics for the Electronics Division.
  • The ability to inspire others to action for environmental causes
  • Direct and be responsible for the ongoing environmental reporting, data integrity and validation of environmental and sustainability data.
  • Assist in maintaining and seeking continual improvement in the environmental strategies, policies and procedures in relation to current industry best practice and statutory requirements.

What we are looking for

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Educated to degree or HND level in an environmental subject
  • Appropriate professional qualifications (e.g. IEMA certificate NEBOSH Environmental Award)
  • Detailed knowledge of UK statutory regulation concerning the environment
  • Detailed knowledge of 14001 & 50001 or other relevant environmental standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills with the ability to communicate and interact at all levels
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach with data analyst experience
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Project Management skills
  • Line management experience

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Member of IEMA (either working towards or is a Chartered Member) or of an equivalent institution
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and engineering environments
