Invictus are offering this fantastic opportunity to join an established FM service provider situated in London. He or she will be based in a critical data centre in SE London. My client is looking for an Engineering Manager who will report directly to the Contract / Operations Manager. Working closely with the Engineering team the Engineering Manager role will be to act as a Technical coordination point for the day-to-day maintenance activities, including the SSP’s, Suppliers and other support teams. One of the key activities involves the role of authorised person for 11kV Electrical Systems and to oversee the shift team and day to day issues
Key duties & responsibilities
You will be the technical reference point for the completion of the necessary permits to ensure compliance with method statements, risk assessments.
You may also be required to attend site meetings with the client and on behalf of the client as requested
To oversee competencies of 3rd party specialist and engineering staff, train, coach and mentor the engineering team to ensure maximum critical infrastructure uptimeSupervise, coordinate and manage the Supplier Site Personnel technical competences for all building plant and systems.
Operate all systems within the buildings in a competent, effective and efficient manner (including HV isolations/operations). Having due regard to business risk and energy use.
Making recommendations for improvement and providing concise technical reports when required Control all activities relating to the technical and efficient operation of the installed building systems including the BMS, Lighting Control Systems, Electrical thermal monitoring systems, HV infrastructure and compliance with Environmental policy, risk assessments and Control of Legionella
Working closely with the engineers team you should ensure that for Specialist Service Provider (SSP) visits have prepared and approved Standard Operating Procedures/PTW
Take a leading role in the regular review of the PPM system ensuring both work scheduling and job descriptions are accurate.
Complete the weekly operations report to the client and attend weekly operations meeting, client meetings as requested, in conjunction with the Contract manager. To monitor utilities usage and report to the client on any abnormalities or energy savings. Compilation of control of engineering risk register and report on critical systems availability Impromptu challenge of engineers to ensure knowledge and understanding of critical infrastructures is at an appropriate level Management of onsite critical spares Ensure all critical equipment maintenance is undertaken in line with requirements
Ensure all critical equipment operational issues are brought to the Customers attention immediately and provide all relevant reports with recommendations Production of quotation for critical infrastructure enhancement / remedial works Implementation of site specific standard and emergency operating procedures Management of escalation of Specialist Service Contractors issues
Must have:
·Strong M+E background
·Experience managing large contract
·C&G – Electrical / 17th Edition
·High Voltage certifiedExcellent man management skills
·Management qualification (Desirable)
·Drive and Passion
·Understanding of critical plant: HV/LV, BMS, Air conditioning System, VAV, FCU’s and Chilled beams, Generators and controls, UPS system and associated control systems, Operation of HV systems (training and familiarisation with this system will be made available if required)
