Engineering Programme Manager, Dorking, Salary: Circa £72,000+ Car + Benefits Package
A global organisation and leading supplier of complex capital equipment are currently seeking an Engineering Project Manager to join their team on a permanent basis to work from their site in Dorking.
The primary responsibilities of the position are split into three main areas:
Project Management – The role will involve managing a multi-million pound process and capital projects, ensuring they are correctly scoped, costed and delivered to customers as well as ensuring project milestones are put in place for the team to adhere to. In addition to this the position will involve leading the installation and commissioning of equipment at customer sites, as well as providing training / technical advice on the equipment to customers and aftersales support. Experience with working successfully with different cultures will be of benefit.
Department Management – In addition to the project management this position will involve managing a small sales engineering team (mechanical / electrical / multi-skilled engineers) who are responsible for project engineering and layout design.
Strategic Customer Support -The position will involve director/government level technical and commercial support for key internal and external stakeholders. As part of this, there can be up to 40-50% UK / worldwide travel to customer sites to oversee project delivery and advise on technical issues relating to the equipment. Manufacture and assembly of the equipment is outsourced so there will be an element of supplier management.
In order to be considered for this position candidates need to have held a senior technical position within a company that designs / manufactures complex electro-mechanical equipment or machinery. In addition to this candidates need to have proven Programme / Project Management experience covering the installation, commissioning and delivery of high value projects on time and within budget constraints.
The successful candidate will also have strong customer facing experience as well as having an awareness of working closely with different cultures. It is preferred that candidates hold a formal qualification i.e. Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or a closely related subject. Candidates will be considered from either a Mechanical or Electrical background.
