The Company:
This Market Leader within the manufacturing field has been established since the early 1800’s. Since then, they have been bought out by even bigger organisations, and have only gone from strength to strength. They provide their products to a wide range of clients, and they have increased their client base extensively over the past 20 years. Some parts of the factory are aging, however in order for the company to meet the customer’s requirements, they have recently been given a £15 million pound budget which is going to be used to completely re-shape the factory and introduce brand new state of the art machinery.

The Role of an Engineering Manager:
This position as an Engineering Manager is purely management based. You will be involved in running the factory and leading and motivating a team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers. You must have good experience of continuous improvement and project work. The site at the moment is running as efficiently as they like, therefore you need to have had experience of improving a factory.

Key Skills:
The engineering manager needs to be highly motivated and be able to work to tight deadlines. This will be a high pressure job because the factory demands someone who can make a change. You should have the skills to be able to manage a budget; set KPIS’s and manage disciplinary processes. The engineering manager will need to coach and develop the team leaders of the factory to drive the culture from the top so that this feeds through the business.
