An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an experienced Engineering and Facilities Manager based in my Client site in Hams Hall.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the onsite maintenance, facilities and hygiene team. Reporting into the General Manager and will provide expertise in all aspects the site physical infrastructure needs, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); structural and civil engineering requirements; maintenance of a facility’s building automation system (BAS); lighting; roofing; fire protection; and other specific structural needs. The Facilities and Engineering Manager is also responsible for designing and implementing preventative plans and procedures focusing on minimizing the occurrence of adverse effects that could affect the operation of the site.

As part of the leadership team you would make recommendations to senior management with an eye to prioritising and improving the overall working function of every aspect of the physical operation.

The Role:

* Serve as leads in analysing the facility infrastructure for deficiencies and inefficiencies

* Ensure any Company Quality Health & Safety objectives and statutory obligations are adhered to at all time

* Ensure all planned preventative maintenance schedules are completed to high standards every time

* Contribute towards the improvement of processes and methods of operating practices within the site

* Assist in the coaching, mentoring and development of the facilities and engineering team

* Communicate with Operations Team ensuring all planned preventative maintenance schedules are maintained and equipment serviced appropriately

* Responsible for the surpassing of all Key Performance Indicators and delivering a high level of customer service and ensuring targets are met

* Responsible for fault diagnosis and problem solving

* Liaising with external providers regarding trouble shooting, mechanical faults and failures and equipment breakdowns

* Produce weekly and monthly management reports for both areas

* To ensure successful management of the site maintenance service contracts

* To ensure facilities upkeep through regular planned, preventative maintenance (PPMs).

* Managing contractor activity as required (induction, supervision and evaluation).

* Management of large projects (including project inception and requirements)

* Responsible for proactive management of the MHE provider

* Responsible for racking maintenance and repair schedule

* You will be responsible for managing annual Maintenance and Facilities budgets

The Person:

* Qualified and have expert knowledge of engineering

* Keen analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and oral communication

* Strong knowledge of building infrastructure, strong working knowledge of regulations and codes, proficiency in engineering

* Understanding of Lean Six Sigma and 5s would be advantageous

* Fully flexible approach to work and able to adapt self to meet the needs of the business

* Ability to work at height using relevant harness equipment

* Ability to demonstrate sufficient technical experience of High Bay Automated Warehousing or similar

* Understand how completion of own responsibilities impacts on the business as a whole

* Able to work without direct supervision and remain motivated to achieve set targets

* Must be an effective communicator and able to develop good working relationships with all levels of colleagues across all teams

* Must be able to demonstrate a proactive approach to raise service levels and ensure clarity of goals

* Must be prepared to work shifts, occasional weekends and provide holiday cover when required
