Positions: 5

Salary – £31,800(involves shifts work – up to £35000)

Vacancy Description:

The Advance Data Specialist will be responsible for the installation, termination, configuration and testing of your work packages. Will have a minimum of 3 months experience as a Data Specialist delivering: –

Quality installations
Projects completed to programme
Safe working environment

Key responsibilities:

Good working knowledge of current H&S requirements and hold CSCS accreditation.

Excellent working knowledge of IT Standards including ISO, BSEN, TIA/EIA for structured cable and associated disciplines.

Industry recognised qualifications in Structured Cabling and / or Intelligent Building systems.

Install, terminate and test structured cabling installations up to Cat 6a / Cat 7 (class EA / F)

Able to interpret test results and identify any problems or non-compliant results and will have the ability to correct them.

Able to interpret plans and layouts and will be responsible for updating site record drawings.

You will have skills over and above those of a Data Specialist which may include one or more of the following:

Fibre optic – You will be experienced in the installation, termination (fusion splicing and polishing) and testing of optical fibre cables. You will be able to test cables using Power Source / Light meter or OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectomer).
CCTV
Access Control
Audio Visual

Project Work

Plan the resource requirements for the installation of works in progress.
Review quality control, testing and commissioning of works.
Implement safety health welfare and environmental procedures.

Essential Experience/Skills:

Knowledge of quality systems
Knowledge of health, safety and Environmental requirements.
Detailed knowledge of technical requirements of British, International and Project Specific standard for installation, testing, management and quality control.
Experienced in and hold manufacturer or industry standard qualifications in technical aspects of Structured Cabling Systems.
Experienced in and hold manufacturer or industry standard qualifications in technical aspects of Fibre Optic installations, CCTV Systems, Access Control Systems or Audio Visual Systems.
