Employment Support Worker

Would you like to deliver a new pilot project for people with mental health support needs? We are working with a charity that have are experts within this field. They currently have a new pilot contract using IPS methodology for residents in Camden and Islington.

What is IPS and how does it relate to this role?

IPS is a proven system, traditionally aimed at people with severe mental health support needs. The key difference to more mainstream IAG / employment support is that IPS is 100% client led. The client chooses which jobs to apply for, which employers they would consider and how much they want to work. This pilot is taking the IPS approach and applying it to clients with common mental health support needs who are in recipient of JSA or are registered with IAPT services. There is no time frame on this service for the client, and you will be expected to work closely with employers to advocate for your clients.

You must have experience of providing support to people with mental health support needs. Experience of IPS is a bonus, but not essential. However, you will have an in depth understanding of the needs faced by people with mental health support needs.

This is an 18 month contract, and you will be working from the charities main office in Islington, however you will be expected to travel locally as required.
