Salary: £42,000 – £66,000 per year

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to work for a leading manufacturing of electronic instrumentation based in Malvern.

The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for end-to-end development of robust firmware within the R&D team. You will be an integral part of a high-skilled, fast-pace and multi-disciplinary design and development team. You will be hands-on from the start, taking ownership of projects and making a positive impact on the business.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement firmware solution on microcontroller-based systems.

• Develop and implement robust and intuitive software.

• Contribute to next generation product development, produce enhancement, sustaining production, regulatory compliance and validation testing.

• Electronics circuit design and diagnosis.

• Development testing and debugging to deliver successful product acceptance.

• Design test-rigs, software and programs to support automated testing and validation.

• Plan and produce deliverables contributing to the team’s engineering and product development goals.

• Generate and maintain effective documentation throughout firmware and software development cycle.

• Upskill to expand area of expertise taking on emerging challenges and opportunities presented by evolving technology.

Background required:

• A demonstrable track record of hands-on firmware development using microcontrollers, preferably within the STM32 and PIC32 ecosystem.

• A degree or higher qualification in the field of Electronics Engineering or a relevant field, with over 2 years experience working with microcontrollers and electronic systems.

• Proficient in firmware programming using C and C++ and associated development toolchain such as STM Cube, Keil and MPLab to implement design effectively.

• Proficient with.Net programming languages such as C#, Visual Basic, Java and/or other object-oriented languages.

• Knowledge of electronic principles and circuits.

• Self starter, resourceful, and driven to deliver great results.
