Embedded Electronic Design Engineer

This role will involve work on the development and testing of embedded hardware and software for an inertial sensing module. The successful contractor applicant will be part of a development team involved in specifying, designing, testing and qualifying the module.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements
• Design of embedded processor PCBs and sensing systems.
• Design for manufacture and design for test
• Design and development of embedded software in C, including GUI design
• Designing software specific to the design of real-time embedded systems.
• Applying appropriate methodologies in the production of robust, maintainable and reusable software designs which factor-in all the considerations listed above.
• Using recognised software testing methodologies.
• Applying configuration management controls.

Previous Experience
• 5 years of experience in the development of products in the commercial business domain.
• Experience of full development lifecycle of an embedded electronic product
• Serial Interfaces (SPI, RS422/485).
• Requirements management.
• Embedded software design tools.
• Qualification of products against environmental & performance standards (vibration, EMC, etc).

Previous Experience in any of the following will be an advantage,
• Serial Interfaces (CAN etc).
• Mathematical modelling tools (e.g. Matlab).
• Safety engineering.
• Project management / project lead experience

Applicants must have a minimum of a 2.1 Bachelors Degree in Electronic Engineering or similar engineering discipline.
