Electrical Sales and Applications Engineer

Salary: £240,000 per year

This special opportunity is for an electrically biased Sales / Applications Engineer to drive exciting expansion plans, be technically interesting, varied and targeted to open up additional national and international markets. This privately owned business design and deliver complex electrical LV switchgear and control panel projects for key clients currently ranging up to £200,000 and the future looks great.
Working closely with the Commercial Director in this newly created role, you will be the face of the company, developing new business and increasing penetration with existing clients as services and product offerings. Servicing a wide range of industries e.g. marine, agricultural, renewable energy, construction, food processing and many more, you will identify and open doors into new customers.
Sales & Applications Engineer accountabilities:
* Identify and develop new business opportunities and customers through the sales strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets in conjunction with the dedicated sales team
* Introduce existing clients to additional areas of service and products offered to increase sales opportunities
* Provide technical, product, service and equipment support, prepare quotations based on customers requirements with all relevant documentation
* Be a key contact, use your professional and technical knowledge both face to face and over the telephone, to build strong, productive relationships
* Be part of a skilled and flexible business who support each other and work to achieve a high-quality product for their customers
Sales & Applications Engineer skills and qualities
* HNC / HND in Electrical Design Engineering or Engineering Technician, or an equivalent qualification in electrical engineering or relevant experience in sales of electrical control and distribution systems
* Proven sales experience gained in a similar environment developing great contacts in this specialist market sector or the personality and tenacity to move into sales
* Ability to work collaboratively with technical support engineers and project managers to deliver technically advanced solutions for your clients
* Great problem-solving skills, analytical, high attention to detail and sound knowledge of MS Office
* Excellent customer service ability with high standards of written and verbal communication skills
* Organised and resourceful, able to meet deadlines and produce compelling win:win business proposals
* Full UK driving licence with the flexibility to travel nationally and international as and when required. Able to work from home and have access to the West Suffolk office.
