Salary: £37,687 – £39,487 per year

My client designs and manufactures a wide range of bespoke products for the rail, energy and defence industries.

They currently have an opportunity for an experienced ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE / CHARGEHAND to join the team at their site in Sheffield. This is a great opportunity for an experienced maintenance engineer who is looking for progression within a well-established, heavy engineering company.

THE ROLE

* Manage and direct the day-to-day operations of the Electrical Maintenance team, including determining requirements for repairs and improvements, establishing project priorities and assigning work tasks, scheduling work to most effectively meet the needs of production with minimal disruption and overseeing time critical repairs.

* Responsible for the electrical maintenance and repair of plant and machinery in a steel processing environment.

* Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance, responding to breakdowns, fault finding and repairing equipment

* Preparation of reports, work orders, maintenance schedules and other incidental reporting

* To ensure that the departmental KPIs are implemented, achieved and analysed to enable KPIs to be measured.

* To ensure all work is carried out in compliance with current legislation and the company’s QHSE manuals.

* To control maintenance tools and equipment

* Working in diverse areas i.e., casting, furnaces, welding & shot blasting equipment.

* Day shift only

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

* Apprentice Trained / Qualified Electrical Engineer

* Experience of managing a small team

* Skilled in electrical disciplines

* 18th Edition qualified

* Experience of working in a heavy engineering / foundry / steelwork environment

* Previous experience working on;

• Melting Furnaces, particularly High Frequency Induction

• Heat treatment furnaces.

• Overhead Cranes

• Continuous sand mixers

• Pneumatics

• Allen Bradley type Inverters

* Problem-solving skills

* Excellent planning and organisational skills

* Proven track record of continuous improvement, PPM & TPM

* Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels

* IT Literate
