The Company

My client is a market leading engineering design, manufacturing and support / service business for a major automotive companies manufacturing plants in the UK, Turkey and India. The specific areas that they cover are Powertrain, BIW Construction, Paint, Final Assembly, Press and Die manufacture.

Due to continued success and year on year growth there is an opportunity for a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join the team and contribute to project from specification right through to buy off. An adaptable and flexible approach to this role is required, along with an ability to work under pressure and maintain an exceptionally high standard of work.

Responsibilities

Electrical design of mass production equipment and machinery covering the following key points:

-Specification: initial concept to final detailed specifications
-Quotation: budget ad final quotations
-Risk assessment: machines and equipment to EU standards
-Hardware and Software design: preparation of schematic drawings, panel layout drawings, field cable harnesses / design of PLC and Safety PLC software and HMI screens
-Supervision: of contract design engineers
-Planning: plan and manage your own design tasks
-Production support: problem solving and countermeasure of design issues at the point of installation
-CE marking: preparation of documentation and compiling of TCF files

Requirements

-Degree / HND in a relevant engineering discipline
-Minimum of 2 – 3 years design experience in automotive
-Design experience of automated manufacturing
-Specification and design of schematic circuits
-AutoCAD Electrical experience ideally
-PLC programming: Omron and Mitsubishi
-Design of HMI screens: Proface, Omron and Mitsubishi
-Commissioning
-BIW process knowledge
-Knowledge of preparing CE requirements and documentation
