Effluent Engineering Technician – Days

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Effluent Engineering Technician to join our team at the Stourton Dairy in Leeds. This is a days based roles (8am-4pm) covering 5 days out of 7, including weekends and bank holidays (exact shift roster to be agreed with the successful candidate).

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Effluent Engineering Technician is responsible for taking complete ownership of the Electrical and Mechanical performance of the effluent plant area which deals solely with trade effluent and not domestic waste. In addition they provide an effective, proactive maintenance service in conjunction with the CMMS (SAP) to enable efficiency and cost targets to be exceeded. You will operate and manage the daily operations of the effluent plant, being local the technical expert and ensuring compliance to legislation. You will be the point of contact for contractors, issuing permits to work, obtaining risk assessments and method statements, keeping records to prove compliance.

You will be responsible for the odour management at site, replacing carbon filters, monitoring odour control systems and record and report data. Creating, carrying out (or overseeing) the plant maintenance schedule, reviewing and modifying as necessary, you will ensure amongst things, the maintenance of pH probes and turbidity sensors and interrogate PLC control systems.

We are looking for a multi skilled engineer, with experience of effluent treatment plants. The successful candidate will understand impact of production on the environment and legislation and have experience of SAP and PLC controls and hold a FLT licence.
