Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year
My client is a global distributor of leading fragrances. They are going through a period of technical development and the Head of E-commerce is looking to strengthen his team and appoint a talented Ecommerce Trading Manager to help deliver and expand the business’ strategy.
The role:
You will be responsible for ensuring that online sales and conversion opportunities are always maximised across all platforms through analysis and insight to drive the business forward.
The role oversees the day-to-day operational management of the websites & marketplaces this is a key role in the Ecommerce team, ensuring all digital activities (digital marketing and promotional activity) and supporting processes are followed and delivered appropriately according to the relevant critical paths. A multidisciplinary role, the Ecommerce Trading Manager also plays an important role in the continuous optimisation of the customer journey.
Requirements:
- Assist the Head of Ecommerce in creating a solid e-commerce strategy, drawing in promotional trading plans that will achieve the overall company objectives.
- Be knowledgeable in all products, ranges, and competitors thereby providing insight and recommendations where necessary.
- Review performance weekly looking for further opportunities to drive sales, also report findings and suggestions.
- Review sales on a daily basis identifying any weaknesses and propose actions to increase sales especially for slow sellers.
- Constantly searching for new developments to take advantage of to improve visitor conversion rates and monitor competitor performance.
- Work with buying team to optimise the product portfolio and stock positions in order to drive weekly sales results.
- Overseeing merchandising on site in line with stock movements, product performance, analytics, and trends.
- Frequent updates with the Operations team to ensure issues are resolved promptly.
- Ownership of AOV driving initiatives through pricing and promotions, improving user journeys, recommending ‘add on’ products and inputting into the Ecommerce development roadmap based on marketplace/customer insight.
- Input into fiscal year budget creation.
- Own the trading calendar working closely with the E-commerce / marketing teams to ensure the plan is supported across all channels.
About you:
- Strong commercial ability with understand of data manipulation.
- Time management: Prioritise, structure work & effectively manage time.
- Analytical ability – ability to budget and review performance.
- Excellent communicator – able to give clarity and set direction.
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Project management skills.
- Proven experience in a strategic e-commerce trading role achieving sales targets and margins.
- A firm understanding of pricing / promotion mechanics and their influence on trading KPIs.
- Must have used Google Analytics (or similar) to monitor activity & draw insights.
- A champion of customer needs.
- Excellent Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Highly organised to ensure the smooth running of all daily operations.
