Salary: £43,276 per year

Duty Social Worker (Fostering)

Up to £43,275.6 (including out of hours, London weighting and homeworking payment)

Home-based to cover London and the South

I am looking for an experienced Social Worker to join a fabulous not-for-profit fostering charity.

The whole company works from home so you will be home-based, but you will be required to cover London and the South.

You role will be to provide co-ordination of the placement service offered by Local Authorities and providing a support service to foster carers.

Main duties for this role will include:

* Receiving placement referrals from Local Authorities via their choice of communication system; e mails, database, telephone

* Considering referrals against current vacancies, identifying potential matches and liaising with foster carers

* Seeking long-term matches for carers with appropriate vacancies

* Completing assessments and liaising with team members to identify how gaps can be addressed if appropriate

* Co-ordination of the placement service offered to Local Authorities

* Provide a duty service to Local Authority Social Workers in relation to current placements

* Providing information and a response service to prospective foster carers

For this fantastic post you must have:

* DipSW, CSS, CQSW (or equivalent) and Social Work England Registration

* Social work experience in Children’s Social Care

* Experience in the fostering arena

* Experience of supervising students, social work, or other ancillary staff.

* Knowledge of childcare legislation, fostering standards and regulations and safeguarding procedures.

* An understanding of the process of recruitment and assessment of foster carers and the requirements relating to their approval
