This is an exciting opportunity for a Digital Engagement Manager to join DWP’s Business Management Team and be part of a huge government department supporting over 20 million citizens every day.

The engagement community within Technology Services is developing and we want you to help shape our digital engagement capability in this dynamic space. We want to establish closer ties with our user-centred design colleagues within the organisation and truly put the user at the centre of all that we do.

As a Digital Engagement Manager within Technology Services, you will work in the Business Management Team.

  • You’ll be working within a wider community of content creators, delivery leads, other Digital Engagement specialists.
  • You will business partner portfolio managers across all of Technology Services and develop successful, long term strategic relationships with our customers.
  • You will ensure our internal products and services are communicated and shared with our community in ways that are user-focused, accessible, and easy to understand.
  • Responsible for the design and evaluation of a variety of internal communication channels and products such as internal newsletters, email, infographics, video etc,
  • Support and champion the reporting of internal communications insight and engagement metrics, keeping up to date with the latest trends and tools available.
  • Collaborate with the content creators within the team to support the production of our communications campaigns to achieve optimum engagement whilst meeting deadlines which can at times be tight.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • You will have the ability to implement and evaluate a variety of internal communication products.
  • Experience of working in fast paced communications team, producing strategies and communications products – delivering at pace – and evaluating impact.
  • Must have experience in managing relationships with channel owners.
  • Experience of applying appropriate governance procedures including delivery assurance.
  • You will understand how to create engaging, accessible, and accurate written content and can implement guidance and best practice in areas including accessibility, diversity, language, and branding.
  • Proven experience of creating, implementing, and evaluating a variety of internal communication processes.
