Job Brief:
A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Development Support Analyst. The role will be reporting to the IT Infrastructure and Support Manager and be part of a mixed team of infrastructure, support, development and testing.
We are looking for a talented technology enthusiast to become a key member of our support team who will assist in every area from desktop support, physical and cloud infrastructure, bug and issue triage for our development team, database queries, documentation and reporting.
This is a varied role covering many aspects of the technology spectrum in all areas of our business
This role covers the following areas:
IT Support: Providing technical support for IT systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving network problems, and assisting users with technical problems. This aspect of the role focuses on maintaining the operational efficiency of IT systems.
Development Support: Assisting software development teams by providing the necessary technical support. This might involve setting up development environments, aiding in software testing, debugging, and deployment processes, and ensuring that the developers have the necessary tools and resources.
System Analysis and Maintenance: Analysing current systems to identify potential areas for improvement or upgrade. This could involve assessing software performance, ensuring compatibility of systems, and recommending solutions to optimize efficiency.
Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with both IT and development teams to ensure smooth operation and effective communication. This includes understanding the requirements of software developers and ensuring these align with IT capabilities and limitations.
Technical Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Providing in-depth technical expertise to diagnose and resolve complex issues that arise within both IT infrastructure and software development domains.
Documentation and Reporting: Documenting system configurations, issues, and resolutions. Preparing detailed reports on system performance, development support activities, and providing insights for improvement.
Continuous Learning and Adaptation: Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and methodologies in both IT support and software development to provide the most effective and efficient support.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of First Line Development Support Experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Script and C# Languages
- Azure & Azure DevOps (Pipelines in particular) experience is a bonus but not essential
- Familiarity with network protocols and technologies
- Knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows 10/11 and MS Office Suite of applications
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Exposure to Call Centre Software is beneficial but not essential
