Development Chef

Our client is a privately owned family business specialising in the manufacturer of chilled ready meals. This is an excellent opportunity to join a established and growing company which prides itself in innovative product development and building strong working relationships with their customers. The Role
To deliver creative meal solutions that meet the Consumer, Customer and Category objectives whilst achieving the gross margin targets of the business. Develop the Food Skills and Culinary understanding of the site through the sites and contributing to the on-going “bank” of concepts that the business has at its disposal to “WOW” the customer.
Work closely with the Concept and Process Development teams supporting in the transfer of recipes from kitchen to factory ensuring that they maintain their culinary profile and integrity through to launch.
Demonstrate knowledge and expertise within the target cuisines and in food generally. Understands the wants and needs of both internal and external customers to keep us ahead of the competition.

The Individual
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal coupled with very creative and competent development chef who is right up to the times with trends and new ideas. A keen eye for detail and the ability to meet deadlines is a must. Experience in a Development Chef role within a FMCG manufacturing environment in the ready meal or convenience sector with savoury products would be ideal. You must be energetic with a willingness to learn, strong people skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
