Salary: £45,600 per year

Design & Project Manager – £38K -Permanent

Saffron Walden – Monday to Friday 9 – 5 pm

Our client is an industry-leading organisation who are expanding through its own success. They have a strong reputation for quality and innovation in design, manufacture, and products. 

This is a really exciting opportunity to become the Design & Project Manager reporting to the Technical Director and will work on the many projects that are increasing in demand from concept to finished product. HNC/HND/Degree in engineering or product design. Working to budgets and timelines to produce designs, prototypes, and testing for compliance. Driving continual improvement and having a desire to work within a strong team culture in a great location and a friendly working environment. Executing projects to meet management strategic objectives and to ensure project delivery within budget and within timeframes. 

We are looking for a lighting designer with a flexible approach to become a key player in the team to ensure the company continues to lead by innovation as it continues its strong growth. This is a good time for a Design & Project Manager to join this organisation to become a pivotal part of the team. 

Duties:

The main areas of responsibility for the Design and Product Manager

• Utilise Solidworks CAD system. 
• Generate work and approved design specifications.
• Produce conceptual designs and costings data.
• Produce Prototypes.
• Liaise with external suppliers for out-of-house engineering.
• Produce tooling files, procurement spec drawings, and obtain quotations from suppliers.
• Manage testing regimes – electrical and mechanical.
• Develop and test assembly/construction methods.
• Modify existing product designs to meet customer requirements.
• Analyse competitor products.
• Collating information for, and producing CE/UKCA technical files.

Qualification:

• HNC/HND/Degree qualification in engineering or product design.

Skills:

• Competent using of SolidWorks CAD system for 3D modeling and surfacing.
• Previous experience in product or lighting design.
• Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and materials.
• Proficient in MS Office
• Knowledge of lens/optical lens design software. (an advantage)
• Knowledge of Relux or DIALux software. (an advantage)
• Full clean driving license.
