Design Manager

Salary: £60,000 – £72,000 per year

We are looking for a Design Manager with a consultancy background and exposure to project management to join a global engineering consultancy in Southwark. The Assistant Design Manager would join a data centre division and work on UK based projects. in building services to join the Mission Critical team of a very well-established Multidisciplinary Engineering Design Consultancy and provide support on the management of large-scale data centre projects.

• Global data centre division in charge of over 100 projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Delivery and overall management of data centre projects by being a vital link between the multi-disciplinary design teams involved.

• Running project trackers and ensuring project milestones are hit.

• Coordination of design stage issues, liaising with internal teams (MEP), architects, contractors, and external consultants.

• Reviewing of contract documents and contractual obligations as well as fee proposals.

• Leading client and design team meetings, taking notes and tracking actions.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

• 3+ years of experience working as a M&E Engineer or Design Manager

• Excellent communication and management skills.

• Consultancy background

• Knowledge of construction project design processes and will have experience of working on multiple projects to tight deadlines.

• Experience of design management tools such as trackers for actions, information requested, deliverables, client comments and variations.
