Design Engineer (Mechanical)

Salary: £26,000 – £26,910 per year

My client are synonymous with innovative design, high quality and superb functionality in their products.
As part of their commitment to the continued growth of their portfolio of clients and a burgeoning order book, they are looking to recruit a talented Design Engineer for their Cambridgeshire site.

As a leader in their field, your role will be to work closely with other designers on a comprehensive range of equipment, machinery and fabricated assemblies, using your experience to ensure the clients products are at the forefront of the sector.

Ideally, you will have a diverse range of experience in the design of components using solid knowledge of design processes, modelling and mechanical calculations.

A background in producing designs using the following components is essential:

Structural Framework/Access Systems
Pneumatics
Sheet Metal Design – box and sheet
Tolerances and Stress calculations

Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering are required, either vocational or gained through further education, candidates with a time served apprenticeship background or a HND/C&G or Degree will be equally considered. Experience in 3D design within the fabrication, machinery or automotive engineering is preferred.

You will be adept in the use of solid modelling software, in particular Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks or AutoCAD.
