Salary: £72,000 – £84,000 per year
We are currently representing a well-established Construction Development Consultancy based near Redditch who are actively looking for a Design Director to lead their design team. Our client are experts in commercial land acquisition, design and development predominately within the retail and leisure sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company and develop your career leading a busy and talented architectural design team ensuring successfully delivery of multiple projects.
On a daily basis you will responsible for the overall management of the Design Team, as well ensuring on-going personal develop and identifying areas for improvement to deliver the most efficient service to their clients. The Technical Director will need to work closely with various departments, you will be expected to prepare and develop planning and construction drawings, surveys, technical specifications and tender packages. It is envisaged the successful candidate will hold a degree in Architectural Technology or Architecture and ideally CIAT or RIBA Membership with at least 3 to 5 years in a similar position.
Design Director Position Overview
Experience managing a variety of projects across the commercial, retail and leisure sectors
High level of competency with AutoCAD and/or Microstation to provide technical support to the team on a variety of working drawings.
Experience managing and working in a multi-disciplined team
Specific day to day duties to be discussed further at interview
Design Director Position Requirements
Degree educated in a relevant field such as Architectural Technology or Architecture
Previous experience working on commercial / retail / leisure projects
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation
Previous experience within a similar position
