Deputy Home Manager

We are looking for a Deputy Manager for a new service based in Tulse Hill area of London, supporting adults with learning disabilities and other associated needs.

The Deputy Manager will work in partnership with the Manager is to provide leadership, development and direction across the service ensuring that the team provides the people we support with the service they need to lead a good life and achieve the things that are important to them and their families.

There will be involvement in all areas of people management, contract management, setting expectations and monitoring performance, providing One to One meetings and Annual Reviews to ensure staff are demonstrating the skills and attitude needed, maintaining their motivation and development by working alongside staff, role modelling great practice, coaching and mentoring.

Hours of work

This role will include some shift work and some admin hours.

For example Monday on shift 7-2.30, Tuesday admin 9-5, Wednesday shift 2.30-10, Thursday admin 9-5, Friday 7-2.30.

Alternatively it could be a combination of shift time and admin time in the same shift (e.g. 7-10 on shift and 10 to 2.30 on managerial tasks).

Some weekends will be worked (one or two weekends a month).

Overall a proportion of 40% managerial time and 60% leading while providing direct support.

Suitable candidates will ideally have a minimum of an NVQ 3 in H&SC, and experience of overseeing a team and leading a shift.
