Assistant Service Manager

Margate, Kent

£27,600 per annum + benefits

We are looking for an Assistant Service Manager to join our team in Margate to manage the staff.

There are 3 service users who have complex needs. In addition all service users have mobility issues, use wheel chairs and require 2:1 support with overhead hoists for all transfers. All 3 have profound learning disabilities. They all require support with communication in their own format. They all require high personal care support. In addition they require support with eating and drinking, one of whom is supported by the SALT team regarding Dysphagia, and one who has a PEG in situ

They are all supported to be fully engaged in PCAS and all daily living skills.

In this role you will work closely with the Service Manager to inspire and motivate the team to provide a high quality service as well assist in implementing current legislation and CQC requirements. Acting as a role model in the delivery of active support, you will promote and maintain person-centred approaches and inclusive community links. You will be expected to attend appointments with the people we support, attend care reviews, review and update care plans and risk assessments, record and monitor daily logs, lead shifts, administer medication, and cover the rota where necessary.

* Have experience of providing life-long support to people

* Ideally have experience of managing staff teams

* Ideally hold a full valid driving licence and have access to your own vehicle

* Effectively communicate with staff at all levels

* Be confident in using own initiative and deputising for the Service Manager

* Be caring and sympathetic

* Be passionate about supporting others

* Be flexible to work early mornings (7:30am – 3pm), late evenings (2:30pm – 10pm), and sleep ins across a 7 day rota. Occasional waking nights may be also be requested.
