Salary: £66,000 per year
Working for a forward thinking B2B publisher on an award winning brand, this is a senior role for the portfolio. (No:2 in command of a medium sized team!) A strong track record of news gathering, editing and managing a team is essential, together with an understanding of digital 24-hour news and the processes and pressures that come with operating in a multi-platform media environment.
Responsibilities and key requirements:
•Work closely with the editor to shape the print and online content and drive traffic through engaging and breaking stories
•Help manage breaking news and coordinate the news and features desks as well as reporters and production
•Attend and contribute to weekly editorial conference
•Help edit print and online content and maintain brand’s superior journalistic standards
•Identify, recruit and train new talent (both staff and freelance) to grow the editorial team
•Mentor more junior members of the team
•Deputise for the editor and represent the magazine at industry events
•Excellent industry contacts
•Understanding of legal and editorial covenants such as the UK Editors’ Code of Practice, media and copyright law
You will have previously worked on a b2b title – in print and/or online
Be able to think on your feet and willing to go the extra mile for a story
Have had previous responsibility for news and feature writing and editing
Experience of managing the magazine production process
Organised and thorough with a keen eye for detail
