DEPUTY CARE HOME MANAGER

I am looking for a Deputy Manager to work in a beautiful care home on the Northamptonshire/Leicestershire border near Market Harborough.

The home caters for a wide variety of residents – some have mental health issues, some have suffered substance misuse and they also look after people with dementia (some early on-set). This makes it a very lively home due to the mixed age group and the resident’s differing abilities.

In this fabulous post you will be required to:

• Support the General Manager across all aspects of managing the home
• Be responsible for monitoring standards of care delivered by care staff
• Take responsibility for monitoring the wellbeing of each resident
• Liaise with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals
• Support and assist the activities organisers in maintaining a full programme of social activities for all residents.
• Assume responsibility for managing the Home during the manager’s scheduled and unscheduled absences.
• Assist in the induction of new staff as well as supervising and appraising staff
• Undertake the home’s internal audits and assist in the development of action plans where necessary

For this post you must have:

• NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in health and social care
• At least 2 years’ experience working at senior carer/team leader level
• Access to a car and be a car driver due to the location of the home
• The ability to work shifts – shifts on the floor are 12 hours and you would be expected to work 2 – 3 shifts on the floor per week over 7 days, the remaining hours are office based
• Experience of working in mental health, substance abuse and dementia is useful, though not essential
