Full Time, Permanent

Crawley, West Sussex (Hybrid Working – 1 day a week in Office)

As a Database Administrator, you will develop and maintain an effective IT Database function that supports the needs of the group’s activities.

Provide effective access to the corporate data and to maintain the security and integrity of the data items and their control environment.

Deliver guidance, support and system solutions to enable continued operation and growth of the business, be able to action all aspects of the IT business continuity plans as and when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for installation, upgrading, monitoring and tuning of database software (SQL
  • Server)
  • Controlling Backups and Recovery of Databases and associated software.
  • Monitoring the integrity and security of the corporate databases escalating/reporting any issues or security breaches as appropriate.
  • Implement and monitor the group’s access control policy in line with legal and company requirements.
  • Advise the on selection/acquisition of Database Software, establish and manage database standards providing advice, guidance and support as required.
  • Provide assistance and support to the IT Development team with database design and implementation.
  • Manages the accuracy, integrity and security of data ensuring compliance with Data Protection and company policy.
  • Implements escalation procedure for important and urgent issues that may impact on the IT availability in the business.
  • Where required, contribute to workload and workflow of all the IT staff which enables the department to achieve KPl/service levels.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Microsoft environments. Database design and optimisation.
  • SQL Server database operating experience.
  • Organise and prioritise work activities. Manage, configure and optimise Database environment.
  • Microsoft certification or equivalent in Database administration.
